A: Both Octogen and Octogen-2, are a pain-relieving rub with four active ingredients. Many other products have no more than two active ingredients. Octogen-2 comes in your choice of a greaseless cream base and Octogen is an emollient petroleum base. 

A: Octogen and Octogen-2 contain methyl salicylate, which is chemically related to aspirin. People who are allergic to aspirin should check with their medical advisors before using Octogen or Octogen-2. 

A: Currently, Octogen and Octogen-2 are available in two sizes. Whether you're buying  Octogen or Octogen-2; you can choose between the 1.25 oz. size (lot of 12 jars) or the 15 oz. size.

A: Octogen original green label ointment contains an emollient in a moisture-barrier base. Care should be taken to not get it on your clothes. Octogen-2, however, is greaseless and stainless, and it washes off with water.

 A: The effects of Octogen should be felt almost immediately after application.
